She was predeceased by: her parents, John Powell and Eva Lewis Powell; her siblings, Jack Fleming and Mavis Williams; and her son-in-law Gregory Midyette.
She is survived by: her husband Roger Surprenant; her daughters, Renee Midyette, Diane Winkler (Richard) and Beth Morris (Steven); her grandchildren, Eric Morris (Wendy), Kelly Mrozik (Joe), Amanda Bailey (Steven), Nicole LaFogg (Dave), Jill Winkler (Dylan), Sarah Midyette (Cody), Lee Winkler, Matthew Morris, Michelle Cihlar (Erik) and Allison Wald (Troy); her siblings, Charles Powell (Maureen) and Cindy Midyette; and her sister-in-law Josephine Fleming. She is also survived by 16 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 19th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Bethany Christian Church (8126 NC-306, Arapahoe, NC 28510). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 19th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A reception will be held on Saturday, April 19th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
