It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Herbert Ernest Willis of Arapahoe, North Carolina, who passed away on July 15, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Willis and Mamie Willis; his siblings, Jessie Lee, Thelma Bennett, Wilma Goodwin, Jevelyn Bell, Dorothy Harrison, Hewitt and Robert Willis; and his grandson Derrick Meadows.
He is survived by: his wife Nora Cowell Willis; his children, Donna Meadows (Danny) and Herbie Willis (Darlene); his granddaughter Dana Meadows Bender (John); his stepgranddaughter Alisha Meadows Ladowski (Chris); and his stepgreat-grandson Jace Ladowski.
In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions be made to Pamlico Rescue, PO Box 302, Bayboro, NC 28515.
