He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William Richard Johnston and Elizabeth Bezotte Johnston; his wife Eileen Spratt Johnston; his daughters, Deborah Johnston Murphy (Daniel) of Apex, Lisa Johnston of Cary and Lori Johnston Fryar (David) of Cary; his grandchildren, David Fryar Jr., Lucas Fryar, Leah Fryar and Rachel Fryar; his siblings, Barbara Lager of San Diego, CA, Thomas Johnston of Detroit, MI and Robert Johnston of Eau Claire, WA; and his brothers-in-law, William Spratt of Holland, MI and Michael Spratt of Houston, TX. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
