He was predeceased by: his parents, Mathew Gilbert Atwater and Eleanor Thompson Kittrell; and his siblings, Katie Thompson, Willie Kittrell and Betty Jean Atwater.
He is survived by: his children, A'Lanros Atwater and Tonja Atwater of Greensboro, NC.; his siblings, Robert Kittrell, Bettystar Morgan, Mack Kittrell, Boot Kittrell (Eleanor), Tracey Brandon and Julia Tina Atwater; his grandchildren, Victoria Adela King, Uvika Atwater Joseph and Ptika Atwater Joseph; and his great grandchildren, Unias King, Jayvyn King, Ayaianna King, Jahzara King, Chasen Atwater Joseph, Channing Logan, Chalan Logan, Charleigh Taborn and Kross Womack. He is also survived by in-laws, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
