He is survived by: his sons, Dylan and Gavin of Cary; his parents, Shannon and Terry; his stepmother Debbie Moore of Holly Springs; his brothers, Terry, Jr. and Michael (Mike) of Knightdate; and his former wife Liz of Cary.

In lieu of flowers, contributions for the college funds of Steve's boys can be made at State Employees Credit Union which is still pending.
