“Al was so very special to me and left a legacy that was bigger than life ! He inspired me, every day that I knew him, but moreso in our adult life. When I played offensive line for Catawba and he played linebacker for Guilford and I had to block him, we trashed talked each other for 3 years. I will never forget that. When we played high school ball together, Jimmy Dorsett, Keith Goodman, Al and I referred to ourselves as "the fearsome foursome". I love you Al. I will see you again!”
