He was predeceased by: his brother John Wesley Chaffin; and also James Chaffin. He is survived by: his wife Rita Calhoun Chaffin of Apex, NC; his children, Rick Chaffin (Lisa) and Carol Reynolds (Darrell); his grandsons, Stephen Chaffin (Shenna), Taylor Chaffin, Gray Reynolds, Aaron Reynolds and Shawn Chaffin; his siblings, Bruce Chaffin and Donna Chaffin; and his sister-in-law Christine Hatchell (Ray) of Goldsboro, NC.
