She was predeceased by: her parents, Luigi Furnari and Luigina Amore Furnari; her husband Frank Losito; her siblings, Phillip Furnari, Frank Furnari and Mary Furnari Grillo; and her siblings-in-law, Giovani Grillo, Charles Leonard Losito and Antoinette Losito.

She is survived by: her children, Maria Calabratta (Joe), Frank Losito, Jr. (Dawn) and Valerie Gallagher (Brian); her grandchildren, Laura Calabretta Christie (Sturgeon), Paul Calabretta, Jon Calabretta, Trevor Losito, Mimi-Jane Losito, Aidan Gallagher, Katherine Gallagher and Keira Gallagher; her great grandchild Lily Jean Christie; her nieces and nephews, Louisa Joy (Paul), Frank Furnari (Elizabeth), Loretta Grillo, Charles Losito (Katie) and Roseann Raia (Steve); and her sister-in-law Nunziata Furnari.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made to Rita's favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Hospital.
