He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Tew and Venie Mae Tew; and his wife Jean Rose Tew. He is survived by: his sisters, Ernestine, Annie of Sampson County and Brenda of Georgia; his children, Charles Edwin Tew of Raleigh, Mechelle Dickerson (Mike) of Creedmoor and Patricia T. Gregory (Mike) of Cary; his grandchildren, Denise (Larry Deal), Thomas, Christopher (Maryanna) and Emma; and his great grandchildren, Bradley, Jordan Deal, Harley, Zane Dickerson and Noah Tew.
