He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Frank and Ruth Jeanice Wells; and his sister Claudette Sue Rahm. He is survived by: his daughter Michelle Wells-Colgate; his son-in-law Stan Colgate; and his grandchildren, Brandon Martin, Rachel Martin, Bradley Colgate and David Colgate. He is also survived by four children.
