She was predeceased by: her parent Oscar S. Goodwin; and her brother Bill Goodwin (Dot) of Apex. She is survived by: her wife Elizabeth Shreve Goodwin; her children, Daycare Licensing, Elizabeth Chappell of Apex and Andy Burgess (Jan) of Boone; her grandsons, Nathan Burgess (Caroline) of Boone, Adam Burgess (Katie) of Richmond and Aaron Chappell (Lauren) of Apex; her great grandchildren, Amber Burgess, Andy Burgess, Finley Burgess, Parker Chappell and Hayden Chappell; and her brothers, Joel Goodwin (Joyce) of Salisbury, NC and Jim Goodwin (Betty) of Henderson, NC. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
She was a supporter of organ donation, and a brain donor to the Kathleen Bryan Alzheimer's Research Project at Duke.
