He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie F. Poe and Pauline B. Poe; and his siblings, William A. Poe, Virginia P. Pumpelly and Anna P. Wilkins.

He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Adams Poe; his sons, Andrew W. Poe, Robby F. Poe (Rachel) and Jeffrey A. Poe; his granddaughters, Audrey and Lauren; and his nephews, Doug Poe (Jean), Daryl Poe (Jeanne) and Danny Wilkins (Mary Ellen).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to New Hill Baptist Church, Global Evangelism Ministries in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Transitions LifeCare.
