With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Betty Jo Pitman Williams of Apex, North Carolina, born in Lumberton, North Carolina, who passed away on July 23, 2023. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Cora Leigh Tyner Pitman and Roger Rhodes Pitman; and her sister Martha Pitman Bullard Paris. She is survived by: her daughters, Lisa Phipps (Gregg) of Clayton, NC and Kim Taylor (Bill) of Westfield, NJ.; her grandchildren, Claire Phipps Evans (Matt), Rachel Phipps Strait (Ryan), William Taylor IV (Sarah) and Katherine Taylor Knopes (Alex); her great grandchildren, Harrison, Ivy Evans, Archer, Tucker Strait, William V, Libby Taylor and Olivia Knopes; and her sister-in-law Shirley Williams. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
