He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Freeman Prather and Ella Marie Prather (Scott); his wife Barbara Jane Prather (Knight); and his siblings, Pete Prather (Ruth), Kerry Prather (Kay), Doris Warner-Lanham (Bill Lanham), Bertha Eileen Bennett (Melvin Bennett), Dale Prather and Richard Knight.
He is survived by: his daughter Melissa Koenig (Dale Koenig); his grandchildren, Katelyn Bachman, Emily Koenig-Terneus (Matt), Trevor Koenig (Erica) and Spencer Koenig (Caroline); and his sisters-in-law, Iola Prather and Frances Knight. He is also survived by many nieces & nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Bryan-Lee Funeral Home-Angier (300 E McIver St, Angier, NC 27501). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel - Angier (300 E McIver St, Angier, NC 27501).
In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Mid-Way Baptist Church in Raleigh or the American Heart Association.
