He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Honeycutt and Hettie Paige Honeycutt; his wife Mary "Frances" Honeycutt; his sons, Robert Honeycutt and Roger Honeycutt; and his siblings, Zelma Ennis, Lonnie Honeycutt, Stronnie Honeycutt, Evelyn Haire, Jewel Horton, Thomas Honeycutt and Dixie Crone.
He is survived by: his son Clay Ausley (Melissa "Missy") of Fuquay-Varina; his granddaughter Kathy Ward of Knightdale; his great grandchild Emily Ward of Knightdale; his daughter Charlotte Kelly; his siblings, Portia Adams (Max "Doc") of Angier, Julia Webb (J. E.) of Erwin, Calvin Honeycutt of Angier and Sammy Honeycutt (Ann) of Angier; his stepchildren, Jo Ann Barnes of Angier, Kevin Jernigan (Jenny) of Angier and Tommy Barnes (Donna) of Angier; and his stepgrandchildren, Dalton Jernigan and Tonya Inscore.
