He is survived by: his sons, Cliff Sauls (Emily) and Tim Sauls; his stepchildren, Eric Layton (Laurie) and Christi Phillippie (Bryan); his grandchildren, Kris Sauls, Jakob Layton, Parker Layton, Davis Layton, Hattie Layton, Luke Phillippie and Sam Phillippie; his sister Diane Thames; and his sister-in-law Dale Sauls. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
