It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Josie Guins Matthews (Angier, North Carolina), who passed away on February 19, 2022, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Marshall Thomas and Mantha Carlisle Townsend Guins; her husband Ersie A. Matthews; her sons, Donald, Dwight and David Matthews; and her grandsons, Eric Williams and Daryle Matthews.
She is survived by: her daughters, Barbara Williams of Charlotte, Susan Vaughan (Ruffin) of Apex and Sheila Pierce (Jeff) of Apex; her daughters-in-law, Vicky, Joy and Paige Matthews; and her sister Ruby Shearon. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren.
