He was predeceased by: his parent Erwin Riewestahl; and his siblings, Dorothy Kell, Beatrice Nottelson, Erwin Riewestahl, Paul Riewestahl and Bob Schaefer.
He is survived by: his parent Margaret Schaefer Riewestahl; his wife Donna Lawrence Riewestahl; his children, Heather Flowers (Scott) of Coats, Dennis Riewestahl of Angier, Keith Riewestahl (Delores) of Angier and Andy Riewestahl (Beverly) of Coats; his sister-in-law Ruby Riewestahl of Chetek; his grandchildren, Justin Riewestahl (Charlotte) of Buies Creek, Jamie Riewestahl (Megan) of Wade, Jessica Hines (Dakota) of Newport, Kayla Riewestahl of Coats, Austin Riewestahl of Coats, Abbie Flowers of Coats and Caleb Flowers of Coats; and his great grandchildren, Conrad Riewestahl, Garrett Riewestahl, John Michael Hines, Jacey Hines and Hudson Riewestahl. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
