He was predeceased by: his wife Diane Futrell; and his brother Ray Futrell. He is survived by: his children, James Freddie Futrell, Jr., Jimmy Thrower, Dwayne Futrell, Pamela Stuffell and Tammy Farley; his grandchildren, Shannon Harper, Catina Campbell, Monica Thrower, Kayla Thrower, Blake Farley, Jessica Farley, Dakota Futrell, Dixie McCain, Dallas Futrell, Gage Day, Tabitha Futrell and Tiffany Futrell; and his siblings, Linwood Futrell, Jerry Futrell, Molly Gray, Pete Futrell and Buddy Futrell. He is also survived by many great grand children.

“MY Mom, Diane, married Freddie in 2008 and he was a wonderful man. Although their marriage didn't last but 5 years, we always got along well and he was good to her and me. He was thoughtful and kind, peaceful and sweet, generous and an overall nice person. He will be missed and I am thankful that I had the opportunity to talk with him about 2 weeks before his passing. We had a chance to reminisce, talk openly and share stories which is wonderful. He was a good man, honest, nice, open. XOXOX”
