He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Johnson and Lula Johnson; his wife Ruth "Marie" Williams Johnson; his sons, Alton "Goody" Dale Johnson and Kenneth Johnson; and his siblings, Eunice Adams, Hoover Johnson, Curtis Johnson and Frank Johnson.
He is survived by: his children, Darlene Matthews of Angier, Randall Johnson (Sherian) of Angier, Ronnie Johnson (Sue) of Raleigh and Donald Johnson of Bowman, GA; his daughter-in-law Jeanette Johnson of Angier; his grandchildren, Lucy, Steven, William, Christopher, Kelly, Barry, Tony, Maggie, Molly and Travis; and his brother Glen Johnson of Angier. He is also survived by 15 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.
