It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Blanche Barbour Matthews of Angier, North Carolina, who passed away on September 8, 2021, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Randall Eldridge Barbour and Cora Tart Barbour; her husband Joseph Matthews; and her siblings, Bill, Paul, Curtis, Doyle Barbour, Geraldine Stevens, Valeria Matthews, Winaford Hare and Justine Morris.
She is survived by: her sons, Jimmy H. Matthews (Ann) of Angier, Randel A. Matthews of Angier and Barry E. Matthews (Sherrie) of Angier; her sister Jean Turnage of Erwin; her grandchildren, Kimberly Matthews Rice (Jonathan) of Angier, Bridgett Goldner (Erin) of Charlotte and Casey Reed (Chris) of Charlotte; and her great grandchildren, Keylie, Koen Hendges of Angier, Diesel Rice of Angier and Rylee Reed of Charlotte.
