He was predeceased by: his mother Rita G. Sexton Dobbs; and his father-in-law Howard Roberts. He is survived by: his wife Carol Sue Dobbs (Roberts); his daughter Heather Renee (Dobbs); his son-in-law David Merritt Whittington; his grandchildren, Reece Merritt and Renee Lynn Whittington; his father Bennie H Dobbs, Sr. (Brenda); and his siblings, Billy Dobbs (Carolyn), Michael Dobbs (Lisa), Jonathan Dobbs (Melissa), Pam Bridgman (Rodney) and Elizabeth Sasser (Lance).
Due to the current COVID-19 situation and upon recommendations from the Governor's Office for Funeral Homes, there will be some restrictions for service attendance. As of Friday, May 14, 2021, masks are NOT REQUIRED for those individuals (employees/attendees) who have been fully vaccinated, at least fourteen (14) days prior to a final dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Johnson Memorial Church or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
