He was predeceased by: his parents, John "Jack" Morton Elkin and Willie Walton Elkin; and his granddaughter Felicia Siegrist. He is survived by: his brothers, John Morton Elkin Jr. and William Keith Elkin; his wife Lane Mordecai Welles Elkin; and his children, Gail Grimm, Karen Reed (Josiah), Mary Siegrist (Ben), Diana Eastep (Ron), Danielle Hance (Ira), Carl Hammond (Rachael) and Amanda Wright (Bud). He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Trevor Project to support LGBTQ+ youth.
