It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruby Ruth Orr of Andrews, North Carolina, born in Macon, North Carolina, who passed away on January 12, 2024, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Pendergrass and Leona Pendergrass; her former husband Sterling Jake Bateman; her husband Willie Ray Orr; her sons, Benjamin Lee Bateman and Joseph Lawrence Bateman; and her siblings, Charles Vaster Pendergrass, James Marion Pendergrass, Samuel Gilbert Pendergrass, Daniel Lester Pendergrass, Larry Duke Pendergrass, Thelma Maude Pendergrass and Ella Mae Pendergrass.
She is survived by: her daughter Vera Sue Bateman; her siblings, Roy Lawrence Pendergrass (Susie) of Morgantan and Lue Garrett (Earl) of Andrews; and her granddaughter Wanda Prince (Amber Bateman). She is also survived by four great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and her special daughter.
