She was predeceased by: her parents, David Phillips and Thelma Phillips; and her husband William Rondall Mason. She is survived by: her daughters, Ronda Shields (Dale) of Rutherfordton and Juanita Phillips of Andrews; her brother Jackie Phillips (Linda) of Edneyville; her grandchildren, Evan Crisp of Rutherfordton, Brittany Goolsby of Rutherfordton, Mason Shields of Rutherfordton, Emily Phillips of Andrews and Austin Shields of Rutherfordton; and her great grandchildren, Corbin and Weston Crisp. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of Mary Sue Mason to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
