She was predeceased by: her parents, J. P. Hamilton and Doris McKenzie Hamilton; her son Robbie Newton; and her stepson Charles Alan Mingus. She is survived by: her husband Charles Mingus; her son Mark Newton (Tiffany) of Dallas, NC; her siblings, Sondra Newton (L. C.) of Murphy and Luke Hamilton (Rachel) of Gastonia, NC.; and her caregiver Stephanie Crowe. She is also survived by five grandchildren.
