He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace Judson and Esther Julie Mashburn McMahan; and his siblings, Mantalene Ivester, Dorothy Owenby, JD McMahan, Doyle McMahan, Pauline and Kenneth McMahan.

He is survived by: his wife Hildred Holloway McMahan; his children, Sheila Kilpatrick (John) of Andrews and Gary McMahan (Karen) of Augusta, Georgia; his granddaughter Emily Merritt (Seth) of Andrews; his daughters, Michelle Elerson (Trey) of Augusta and Jennifer McMahan of Augusta; his siblings, Manuel McMahan of High Point, James McMahan (Vivian) of Andrews and Janet Cearly (Joe) of Chatsworth, Georgia; his nephews, Dick Owenby (Shirley) of Dillon and Farrell Holloway (Kim) of Andrews; and also Dyanna. He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.
