He is survived by: his sons, John Richard Higdon and Jim Hugh Higdon; his wife Mary Jaqueline "Jackie" Puett Higdon; his grandsons, Brady Payne and Alex Higdon; his great grandchild Maverick Payne; his daughter-in-law Julia Holcomb Higdon; his brothers, David Higdon (Meredith) of Andrews and Gary Higdon (Joan) of Hiwassee Dam; and his nieces and nephews, Anthony Higdon, Steve Higdon, Chad Higdon, Annette Higdon Ensley, Cynthia Higdon Bateman and Jamie Higdon Rodriguez.
