With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Charles Leon Mingus of Andrews, North Carolina, born in Cherokee, North Carolina, who passed away on May 28, 2024 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Mingus and Flora Timpson Mingus; his former wife Helen Whitaker Mingus; his wife Christine Hamilton Mingus; his son Charles Alan Mingus; his stepson Robbie Newton; and his brothers, Jerry Mingus and Howard Mingus.
He is survived by: his siblings, Wanda Dockery (Alfred) and Billy Mingus (Judy Caroleen); his sister-in-law Ann Mingus; and his stepson Mark Newton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
