Anna Perdue wrote a sympathy message

“Ted was the best. His smile, his heart, his laugh... and he was such a wonderful gentleman. Even though we didn't stay in touch, he always had and will continue to have a special place in my heart. My heart hurts for his family.”

Jacqueline Carnahan wrote a sympathy message

“Ted had the sweetest, kindest, funniest personality I can remember as a kid growing up on the same street. I loved hanging out with him. Later as we moved on through school he would be one out of two boys that ever stood up for me. He actually stood in another males face and protected me from being hit. I got to see him again in 2009. I didn't recognize him because it had been so long, but as soon as he spoke and laughed I knew it was him. He hugged me like I was his best friend in the world. I'm sure he made everyone he knew feel this way. Later, he helped my mom out around the house when she couldn't find anyone else, even if it meant changing his day around. To this day I've never met anyone with the same spirit. I wish I had the photo of us in 2009 to attach, he was laughing so hard. He will never be forgotten. To all of Ted's family and friends, our families deepest sympathies and love.”
