He was predeceased by: his parents, Carroll Banks and Glennie Banks; his son Jessie Carroll Banks; and his stepson Carl Duane Pitt. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Banks; his children, Lenwood Lee Banks Jr. and Marianne Rice; his brother Al Banks; his grandchildren, Carly Price, Melissa Sadler and Treasure Banks; his great grandchildren, Ryleigh Price and Tatum Price; and his niece Candice Jones.
In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions be made to Sudan Shrines for the Children's Hospital, 1425 S. Glenburnie Rd. Suite 4, New Bern, NC 28562.
