He was predeceased by: his father Bert Charles Day "B. C."; his granddaughter Kimberly Dawn Meekins; and his brother Danny Day. He is survived by: his mother Mary Peele Day; his wife Mary Catherine "Cathy" Ashburn Day; his children, Tina Day Meekins (James) and Michael Peele Day (Lucinda "Cindy"); his grandsons, Landen Meekins, Michael Peele Day, Jr. and Nathan Day; and his siblings, Herman Day and Anna Day Arthur. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family asked that donations be made to Hospice of Pamlico, PO Box 6, Bayboro, NC 28515.
