He is survived by: his children, James Allen Mitchell Jr. (Marie) of Alliance and Sara Mitchell of Grantsboro; his sister Beulah M. Mitchell of Alliance; and his grandchildren, Heidi (Adam), Deana (Patrick), Adam (Whitney), Allen Dean (Kristy), Timothy, Kenneth and Elizabeth (Lee). He is also survived by nineteen great-grandchildren.
