It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley McGinnis of Alexis, North Carolina, who passed away on June 20, 2022, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James V Kirby and Margaret Kirby. She is survived by: her husband Larry McGinnis; her children, Duane Bumgarner of Granite Falls and Donna B. Bailey; her son-in-law J. Mark Bailey of Hickory; her grandchildren, Thomas Bailey of Newton and Lauren Bailey of Asheville; her stepchildren, Buddy Lewis McGinnis of Alexis, Oliva of Alexis, Sherry Clemmer of Alexis, Michael of Alexis, Brian McGinnis of Alexis and Heather of Alexis; and her siblings, Jerry Kirby (Pat) of Granite Falls, Dean Kirby (Brenda) of Granite Falls, Roger Kirby (Diane) of Granite Falls, Kenny Kirby of Hildebran and Loretta S. Hefner of Hickory. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
