He is survived by: his wife Bula Edwards Payne; his children, Teressa Roberson (Richard), Deena Fortune and Donald Payne (Tanya); his grandsons, Jason Payne, Christopher Roberson and Matthew Payne; his sister-in-law Eula Cordell; and his grandson Shawn. He is also survived by 8 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.
