He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Luther and Carrie Moody Rogers of Virginia; his former wife Mary Anne Carter Rogers; his siblings, Wells, Charles Junius, Dwight, Oron, Bessie Lee Fitzgerald, Virginia Stonestreet, Geraldine Chrisco, Jewell Culp and Betty Moser; and his son-in-law David Wilson.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Ann Rogers; his daughters, Carrie Wilson Currin (Jesse), Anne Lowder (Steve) and Laurie Hoots (Steve); his stepson David Sutton (Finley); his grandchildren, Bobby Wilson (Jordan), Logan Hoots (Madeline), Will Lowder, Carter Hoots (Jordan), Matt Hoots and Rebecca Lowder Satalino (Thomas); his stepgrandsons, Ben Sutton (Katie) and John Sutton (Hailey); and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Sam, Finley, Graham and Sloane. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Albemarle or Hospice of Stanly & the Uwharrie.
