He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Watkins and Ethel Mae Dockery Watkins; and his brother Ray Dunlap. He is survived by: his siblings, Virginia Dunlap, Lee Edward Watkins and Willie; his sister-in-law Mary Watkins; his sister Clara Hunter; and his aunt Bernice Thomas. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
