He was predeceased by: his father Charles Raymond; his wife Melanie Dowling Edwards; and his siblings, James Benton Edwards, Charles Allen Edwards, Willie Jean Baucom and Doris Ramelle Edwards.
He is survived by: his son Tim Edwards (Danielle) of Charlotte, NC; his grandchildren, Chloe Edwards, Carter Edwards and Clara Edwards; his brother Harold Edwards (Janice) of The Woodlands, TX; and his sister-in-law Aileen Edwards of Norwood.
