He was predeceased by: his parents, Elwood Clamon Clayton and Margaret Maxine Miller Clayton. He is survived by: his wife Joan "Hoopie" Clayton; his children, Richard Clayton, Jr. (Donna) of Richfield, Sam Clayton (Cindy) of Richfield and Brandy Lowder (Brandon) of Richfield; his sister Jane Huneycutt (Oron) of Albemarle; his grandchildren, Joshua, Daniel, Anna, Grace, Jacob, Jeslyn and Tinlee; and his great grandchild Asher.
