It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Reba Litie Gray Barbee of Albemarle, North Carolina, who passed away on May 1, 2023, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Chance and Londa Barringer Chance; her husband James Lester Barbee, Jr.; and her siblings, Hazel Chance, Nora Russell, Odessa Aldridge, Mary Almond, Helen Lowder, Elmon Chance, Royce Chance, Henry Chance, Robert Chance, Pete Chance and Edward Chance.
She is survived by: her children, James "Jim" Lester Barbee, III (Sherry), Jane B. Huneycutt (Roger) and Christopher "Chris" Barbee (Wendy). She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly and the Uwharrie, 960 North First Street, Albemarle, NC 28001.
