She was predeceased by: her parents, James Monroe and Cornelia Smith Hartsell; her husband Walter Bruce Furr; her former husband Sidney A. Almond; and her sisters, Ramelle Efird, Gladys Yow of Albemarle and Ruby Neal "Teen" Crisco.
She is survived by: her children, Rod Almond (Kelly B. Almond) of Rockwell, NC, Rhonda A. Hughes of Albemarle, NC and Rick Almond of Albemarle, NC; her sister Joyce H. Little of Oakboro; her grandson Hunter Hughes of Albemarle; her brother-in-law Ben Furr (Tempie) of Cary, NC; her stepchildren, Dean, Donna, David and Doug; and her nieces and nephews, Sandra Edwin, Rita Crisco, Sonya Young, Suzanne Mariscano, Dennis Efird, Barry Yow and Mark Crisco.
