It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marlene Smith Morton of Albemarle, North Carolina, who passed away on January 9, 2024, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Moses Ezekiel Smith and Venie Louselma Smith; her husband Rayvon Leroy Morton; and her siblings, Edith "Betty" Holt, Lucille Calloway, Tally Smith and Dwight Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Angela Morton (Charity Ballard) of Concord, NC and Calvin L Morton (Teresa Vickers) of Fountain Inn, SC; her grandchildren, Josie Morton, Deena Morton and Patrick Vickers; her great grandchild Channin McCullough; her pets, Garnet, Max and Diamond; and her siblings, Hazel Lowder of Durham, NC, Elwood Smith of Albemarle, NC., Ralph Smith of Albemarle, NC. and Darrell Smith of Albemarle, NC..
