She was predeceased by: her parent Spurgeon Charles; her husband Walter Gaddy Lanier; and her siblings, Ernest, Joe, Bobby Coley and Patsy Coley.

She is survived by: her son Edwin Lanier (Cissy) of Norwood; her siblings, James Edward Coley (Mamie) and Lila Coley Ingold; her sisters-in-law, Joyce Coley and Janice Coley; and her stepgrandchildren, Jerry Johnson, Jennifer Huneycutt and Kelly Dandridge.
