Lorraine Margaret Kirkingburg Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Lorraine Margaret Kirkingburg of Albemarle, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 12, 2025 at the age of 99. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Louis Fox and Violet Barrett Fox; her husbands, Wilbur Lane and Richard Kirkingburg; and her siblings, Wilma Estey, Jeanneta Kearns, Violet Darling, Carol Fox, Herbert Fox, Robert Fox and William Fox.
She is survived by: her children, Margarete "Marty" Volkmar (Robert) of New York, Larry Goessens (Michelle) of Oklahoma, Roy Lane of New York, Phillip Lane (Tammy) of Texas and Brian Lane of North Carolina; her stepchildren, Richard Kirkingburg (Patricia) of New York and Terri Smith (Chris) of New York; her sister Beverly Jacobs of Tennessee; and her sisters-in-law, Nancy Leitner of New York and Lois Fox of North Carolina. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, twenty nine great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the Christ Episcopal Church (428 Pee Dee Ave, Albemarle, NC 28001). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM at the same location.
