He was predeceased by: his parents, J. S. Kluttz and Mary Wyatt Clayton Kluttz; his siblings, Jack Methias Kluttz, Annie Lou Kluttz Honeycutt, Jake Nelson Kluttz, Julius Kluttz and Mary Patricia Phillips; and his grandson Kevin Fowler Kluttz.
He is survived by: his wife Julie Ussery Kluttz; his children, John David Kluttz (Kim) of Oakboro, NC, Sally Simerson of Denver, CO and Betsy Tusa (John) of Lafayette, CO; his grandchildren, Bonnie Kluttz Sammons (Ben), John Alexander McKinnon (Sarah) of Asheville, NC and Seth William McKinnon (Amanda) of Germany; and his great grandchildren, Charlotte, Meredith, Grant, Victoria and Ronan.
