He was predeceased by: his parents, Kemp Lee Plowman and Martha Catherine Furr Plowman; and his wife Janet Carmeleta Mauldin Plowman. He is survived by: his children, Debbie Whitley (Arthur) of Albemarle, NC, Kathy Plowman Barbee (Jack) of Albemarle, NC, Kevin Plowman (Kennitha) of Mt. Pleasant, NC and Larry Plowman of Sneads Ferry, NC; and his close friend Hazel Taylor. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Grace Baptist Church Building Fund, 644 Edgemont Street, Albemarle, NC 28001 (gracebaptistofalbemarle.org) Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Plowman family.
