She was predeceased by: her parents, Spencer Carpenter and Zula Foutz Carpenter; her husband Kemp Thompson; and her brother Hoy Carpenter. She is survived by: her children, Trent Thompson (Nancy Clark) of Albemarle, NC, Sherri Harwood (Jeff) of Albemarle, NC, Darrell Thompson (Tammy) of Albemarle, NC, Ron Thompson (Liz) of Albemarle, NC, Robby Thompson (Jean) of Albemarle, NC and Pam Padgett (Ron). She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
