It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gerard Paul Pion of Albemarle, North Carolina, born in Washington, District of Columbia, who passed away on April 12, 2023, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Maurice Pion; his great grandchild Jolene Carter; and his sister Carol Dandeneau. He is survived by: his children, Gerard P. Pion, Jr. (Melanie) of Albemarle, NC, Teresa Shepherd (Darryl) of Kannapolis, NC and Jennifer Upright (Mike) of Troutman, NC; his sisters, Pam Miale, Debbie Martin and Wendy Marshall of Albemarle, NC; and his grandchildren, Sarah Pion (Marco) of Albemarle, NC, John Pion of Albemarle, NC, Rebecca White (Austin) of Salisbury, NC, Danielle Boone of Albemarle, NC, Samantha Reed (Adam) of Statesville, NC, Elizabeth Stephens (Nicholas) of Statesville, NC and Nathaniel Pion of Albemarle, NC. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
