She was predeceased by: her parents, Alvin Estes Ashe and Annie Gibson Ashe; and her siblings, Marvin, Donnie, Larry, Ray Ashe, Mary Lambert, Jeanette Kerr and Evelyn Olliphant.
She is survived by: her husband William Roger Smith of New London, NC; her children, Deborah Crisco Thomas (David), Brenda Crisco Coley (Todd) of Albemarle, NC and James Robert Crisco of Albemarle, NC; and her sister Emma Jean Ferrell of Mebane. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
