He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Gardner and Tinie Gardner; and his siblings, Louise Lee and Ralph Gardner. He is survived by: his wife Betty A Gardner; his daughters, Brenda Helms (Randy) of Albemarle, Donna Clark of Albemarle and Laura Gardner of Albemarle; his grandchildren, Michelle and Dustin Helms; his stepgranddaughter Angela Clark; his great grandchild Ella Tucker; and his siblings, Daniel Gardner (Tissie), Wayne Gardner, Sallie Hudson, Lila Green (Edward) and Peggy Hudson (Michael).
